Throughout his 40-year career, Hélio has served at the highest level of the Brazilian government, namely as Minister for Communications between 2005 and 2010.
He is currently the chairman of numerous market-leaders in Brazil, among which Light Energy, Ligga Telecom, Sercomtel Telecom, Davos Commercial and Mining Cia., and board member of ABT, the Brazilian association of teleservices (with 1.5 million employees). He has also received several awards for his work in journalism and communications from international organizations among which the World Press Association and the League of Women’s Voters of New York.
